Methodology

Data Inputs

The detector reads timeline buckets from live EVE data cache (5-minute buckets), then loads per-system jumps and kills for the last hour.

Scoring Model

For each K-space system, a composite score is estimated from three normalized signals:

Recent jump volume (weight 56%)
Jump surge versus previous bucket (weight 34%)
Recent ship and pod kills pressure (weight 10%)

Corridor Extraction

Only high-scoring gate edges are kept, then connected components are formed. For each component, the detector estimates direction from earlier activity toward later activity hotspots (with surge/volume fallbacks).

Confidence Estimate

Candidate confidence combines:

Mean corridor edge strength (45%)
Total movement volume across corridor systems (30%)
Total surge strength across corridor systems (25%)

Map Visualization

When you click a candidate row, the map auto-focuses that corridor and draws a bright route with glow, direction arrows, and endpoint markers. Thicker and brighter corridor means stronger confidence.

Important Limits

This is a heuristic detector. It estimates probable fleet movement patterns but does not directly observe fleets or exact pilot counts.
